Hotmail question

OS - Win XP, 1.5GHz Athlon, 120 GB HD (65% Free), 512 MB RAM, Browser IE 6, Hotmail 2000MB space available with 1% used..

Using Hotmail - when I attempt to open anything ~70KB or larger it times out and I get a DNS error. These are not attachements - but plain e-mails. Nothing over ~70KB can be opened.

Have I got something switched on or off?????

Any ideas??

Thank you
Mike

what is the exact dns error? Until you resolve the problem, consider forwarding the email to another account.

hmm I wonder if there could be a lot of network traffic (due to spyware, worms etc) and that's causing the larger files to take a long time and time out?

that is a weird problem. Try deleting the files in your temporary folder.

Spybot, AVG, Window Washer and Ad-Aware are run nightly...

Temp file is emptied nightly...

High network traffic....doubt it, since other computers function OK.

Thank you for staying with me.......
