Administrator login problem

I recently updated our Win2k (service pack 3) server with some minor updates via WindowsUpdate (not really looking to see what they were). Upon resetting I found I couldn't log on as Administrator, either for the Domain or the Local Machine. I've tried to reset the Local Machine password using this:

But, while the password is apparently reset to blank (I checked by downloading and cracking the SAM file), I still receive an error message when attempting to log in ("Incorrect domain or password").
Any ideas?

sounds like your just gonna have to start over. Not really anything legal you can do to regain lost admin passwords.

dark make sure you are logging into the local machine and not the domain using the administrator username and (reset) password

Trying to add PC to a domain....can't log on as administrator of local machine because it wants password...where do I go from here.....New IT member
