I had a virus problem due to which I had to reformat my disc and reload Windows 2000 OS.
After I updated the OS from the Microsoft site and started the computer I keep getting the following message on startup:
"please go to the control panel to instal and configure system components"
After I press OK the message disappears but comes back again when I restart.
It doesnot cause any problems but is annoying.
Any suggestions how I can remove this message on startup?
Thanks.

Hi,
Please download 'Hijack This! http://www.cybertechhelp.com/html/downloads/download.php/id/40
Create a new folder and put hijack into it
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe
Check for updates first by clicking the config then tools buttons.
Hit "Scan".
When the scan is finished, click "Save Log", and copy and paste it in a reply.

sounds like you have installed Media Player 10, uninstall it, if they provided one this time.
