Netscape problem

i have a powerbook g3 with mac 8.6 os. i normally use ie 5.1 as my browser, but i need to use netscape 4.5-4.7 for a specific site. i installed netscape 4.79, but it is really slow and freezes up (i can't load this site or yahoo among others.) i reinstalled the software, but to no avail. any ideas what the problem could be?

Netscape 4 is at least 5 years old now. It's well behind the possibilities of the web no days. That's your problem.

i wouldn't be using it, except a site i want to access requires that i use netscape 4.5-4.7. thanks for the reply, though.

Odd that a site would ever request that. Even in it's hey day Netscape 4 wasn't a very solid and secure browser.
