I am having a problem with my system. I think that it might be a virus. About two weeks ago I started getting pop ups. When I start searching the web I get continuous pop ups. I have tried to get rid of them by using Adaware 6.0 scanning which did not help. The most frequent pop ups are Virtual Bouncer, and 680180.net. I also have have a problem using IE when searching the web. Some sites I can go into, and others send me back to my desktop, so I have to search through my aol browser. I can't check my email on Yahoo through IE because it kicks me back to my desktop. My computer also freezes when searching. It seems as thought I'm waiting 1to 2 minutes before it takes me to the site. Please tell me what I could do to fix it. I am using Windows 2000 pro with IE6.

your system is infected with spyware/adware and most likely with a virus; follow the instructions below to update your antivirus definitions then remove any unwatend programs as instructed.

unplug your pc from internet and booting on safe mode

Update the virus definitions.
Uninstall "Virtual Bouncer" using the Add/Remove Programs utility.
Run a full system scan and delete all the files detected as Adware.VirtualBouncer.
Delete the value that was added to the registry.
Install the most recent critical updates from microsoft
Empty your cookies
Empty your temporary internet files
Please note that in some cases, you might have to switch to "show hiden files and folders" in order to successfully remove any infected files.

Good luck!
