my powerbook g4 has alot of problems please help!!!

Hi iam am having a problem with my mac powerbook G4 10.3.5 When i plug in my ipod or my external hard drive or my digital camera into the firewire port nothing will come up. I have tried restarting my computer and the other devices and it still does not work. Also when I download somthing and i click on the icon a error comes up saying that the disk did not mount and the error number is 536870208. Also the last thing is when i try to burn files on to dvds in finder the dvd will just eject and and anther error comes up but the dvd will burn in idvd. I think that all of these problems are conected and I hope you can help me with these problems.

have you tried repairing permissions?

No I have not tried to do that. Iam really new to macs and i dont know much about them so could you tell me how I could repair permissions.

Please dont' post the same question mroe than once. it wont' aid in getting responses.


To repair permissions go to [volume]/users/[user]/applications/utilities and launch Disk Utility. Let it load, then click your hard drive disk on the left and then click the repair permissions button. This should be done BEFORE and AFTER every installation.

I tried that and it hasent solved any of the problems iam having. sorry for posting the same thing.
