I tried to unistall Windows Me from my computer so I went to add/remove programs it's not there. Me is a headache so I Installed Windows Xp Home. The funny thing is I don't see Home Xp in the add/remove programs either. When I start up the computer it ask me which operating system do I want, how do I get rid of Windows Me if I don't see it at all? Thanks. OS: Compaq Presario Pentium 3 128mb.

Hi
I dont think you can unistall windows from add/remove..I take it that you installed xp on the same disk as Me...something that is not really adviceable..both os are on yr disk and you can verify this ..when asked on bootup, select ME and see what happens
My word of advice is to back up and go for a clean xp installation, this will ensuresmooth future operation
From ADD/REMOVE,you can add widows functions..iegames,multimedia etc.or remove them

Welcome :)
It would seem that you have over written Windows ME with Windows XP.
You don't actually have Windows ME anymore, just the reference at boot up.
You can remove that by going to
Control Panel>System>Advanced>Startup and Recovery>
uncheck the Display List of Operating Systems
Personally I would advise to format the drive and install XP from scratch.

Degsy..how would I go about doing that? When I get my power supply problem fixed I need to switch from ME to XP. I want a clean install of XP. Will I lose anything on my computer by doing that?

A format would wipe data from your drive.
You would be best to start a thread with your current status and what you want to achieve.

yes ya will loose everything by formating.. unless you have a second hardisk? then you can transfer files onto it for safety..
