I have tried them before, but it's not showing at my site, so I took it down, and added another that I found. I've just gone to their site again (Site Meter), and tried to sign up again, it says I have to have my browser allowing cookies! I thought I had that, even took a look, but it shows Site Meter as being blocked, and I canna figure out how to unblock it. :(

Are you sure your webhost doesn't support anything like webalizer or urchin stats ? or is this something you specifically want your visitors to see ?

Give 'em a limited ftp account and let them down load the log. ;)

Okay, I don't know why, but I just cannot access the Site Meter site, well I can get to the "home" page, but I can't log in, it keeps telling me I need to allow cookies!! I have done that through IE, even cleaned out all the cookies that are blocked through Tools/Internet Options/Privacy/Web Sites/Edit, then once cleaned, added the link for Site Meter, and allowed it. I've also ran a Temp' Files clear out, and re-booted, but I still canna get myself logged in through this computer. Also, and I guess it's because of the fact I can't get cookies for this site, when at my website that has the Site Meter, all I see is a red "X" where it should be, yet I know others can see the "image" for it, and can access it from there, I can't even do that......The darn thing is sooo frustrating. :(

Dave what other tools are you using? Maybe something has changed your hosts file (Windows XP = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC) , that is an option for spybot. Do a search here for host files and you may find your answer.

There are six files in that folder....

hosts
HOSTS.bak
ImHosts
networks
protocol
services

I don't have Spybot here anymore, but it may have caused any damage before uninstalling it.

Thanks for the help.

You can have a look and make changes to the hosts file by opening it using Notepad.
MAKE A BACKUP COPY FIRST!!
Here is what the beginning of mine looks like.

# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

127.0.0.1 localhost

Dave I don't know if this is what is causing your problem or not. It is worth a shot, as I can not think of anything else, you have already set the privacy settings for that site as well and tossed your cookies.

Thanks, I'll try that, the weird thing is, it seems to be the only site that I have this problem, that's what I don't understand.

This one (http://www.s-tracking.com) is an absolute ideal tracker in my opinion.
It is a freebie with very little coding to integrate, you basically just copy and paste the tracking code into the pages you want to track, it's that simple.

The control panel is easy to figure.
It can keep a record of your visitors

Browser
O/s
Page start
Page exit
Cookie Support
Javascript Support
Page views per day,week,month,year...........

get the idea?
