Fired up my office PC this morning, heard a bit of a "screech" in the vicinity of the HD, and then aptly greeted with an error in DOS:
"Operating System not found"
Breaking into a sweat, I tried a quick reset, and fortunately granted a reprieve. Windows started, allowing me to save some files, that would have wreaked pain and suffering otherwise.
Though Win Me has been..well, for lack of a better word, "sketchy", over the past three years, I've ultimately adapted to its unique quirks, albeit with limited distraction. The system came equipted with a DVD RW, however the rare occasions to use it, resulted in errors writing to disc.
So today, in hopes of salvaging some other files, it was little surprise when once again, an error occurred, along with a suggestion to "reboot", before trying again.
Any ideas on what the odds are, for the system making it thru another reboot?
All wisdom offered, would be greatly appreciated.
