A few weeks back our computer crashed and we used the recovery CD. We lost everything on the hard drive and now find out that my husband had saved his resume on the hard drive, along with a floppy. He puts the floppy in and it asks if we want to reformat it? We are saying no because we don't want to lose everything on it. Why can't we read this floppy? Is there a way to retrieve this information? Help-------thanks

first, eliminate the possibility that it's your floppy drive; try the floppy disk in another computer. if it works there, then it is the floppy drive that is no good. if it doesnt, its probably the diskhttp://cybertechhelp.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif

check your bios and see if the floppy is recognized. If not, make the proper changes and see if you can get it recognized. If you cannot, then there is a good chance the floppy is bad.
