After installing a second hard drive, the computer wont start with the first one anymore, Just hangs on "Boot from CD"
finally I reformatted and reinstalled W2K on the new drive, starts OK alone, but no longer with the first one as slave. Just hangs on "Boot from CD"

Have moved jumper, adjusted boot order in bios, etc. so not totally lost in space, but this stumps all my friends, too...
Possibly because the drive was full?

thx

How are they jumpered. Some drives need jumpered as Cable Select (CS) as the master...

it may be a possibility that it won't start from your first hard drive as it is full but not likely. recheck the jumper settings again and make sure they are correct. did you check to see if your 2 drives were detected in the BIOS?
