 I recently tried to clear some programs from my computer but when i restarted the computer i had a problem with my internet connection and was getting lots of error msgs. so i used the system restore and went back a week before. Now when i turn the computer on i get the following error on a blue and red screen, "NAV Auto-protect the configuration files were not found, using default configuration" when you click OK (which is the only option you have) you get another blue and red screen error "NAV Auto Protect unable to initialize the virus scanning engine database files" when you click OK this time the computer finally comes on. I had a trial version of Norton and Mcafee and was trying to delete them and install a new virus protector with a fire wall for my new DSL connection. I just got rid of a lot of viruses and hope i dont have another one. Any help would be greatly apprectiated.

sounds like you buggered up yer norton antivirus.. honestly i think the best is to uninstall it and reinstall and re-d/l the updates again.. either that or try and find regcleaner.. the old norton files might be trying to run at startup..
