my iBook that has gone beyond warranty is not functioning and i was hoping someone might be able to help out. problems are:
-if i move the laptop, the right side of the screen becomes covered in thin, horizontal lines and the computer then freezes
-sometimes the monitor will stay blank after i turn it on

i had to have the monitor replaced once before, same thing as before.

It does sound like your monitor is going bad.. or the connection to it are going bad.

I don't know if anyone here can thuroughly diagnose what is obviously a hardware issue without physically seeing the iBook

contact whoever fixed it even though you have no warranty they might consider fixing it free. Its worth a shot if you mention you had this problem before and it was replaced and it continues to happen.
