WIN.COM Missing Please Help US

Hello all,:wave:
My dads computer is missing the Win.Com file and it says that it is unable to load windows. We have the original restore disk for the computer but it does nothing.:dizzy: Did we kill this computer or is there something we can do to fix this problem? If I was to format drive c: and then install windows 98 SE would that maybe fix it? If anone has any suggestions please let me know.;)

WIN.COM is the file loaded to start Windows, so the only other method I see for you would be to somehow get that file onto Diskette and copy it into the Windows directory (make a bootdisk, let that boot the PC to DOS but also put onto that disk your WIN.COM file) and then copy that to the Windows directory...
