Unable to get in my pc or control panel

I am unable to enter into my computer on the desk top, or into my control panel, and when I right click on start I am unable to open, explore, or seach.All i get is explorer has caused a error in <unknown> Would somebody please be able to give me some imput on what would be causing this, and what I could try to do resolve this :( Could i possibly do some sort of restore?

Windows ME has a built in utility, System Restore. Go to Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore

Pick a restore point prior to the start of the problem.

See if that helps.
