Hello,

I started doing tech support to my friends and neighbours as a hobby and some few $$$.

Which software is elemental on every tech support briefcase?

I thought in some programs, but certainly there's got to be more of them.

There are some examples I think; please correct me if you consider a better option:

> Ad-aware
> Spybot Search & Destroy
> AVG Antivirus
> Diskepper 8
> Registry Mechanic
> TuneUp Utilities

Tell me your elementals,

Cya

Really depends on the problem.

A startup floppy for Win98
A boot CD with utilities. http://www.ultimatebootdisk.com
Seperate HDD utilties from manufacturers such as WD, Maxtor, Seagate etc.

Service Packs
Critical Patches such as Blaster and Sasser
Virus scanners, upto date definitions and trojan scanners
Firewall

Registry Cleaners
Tweaking Programs
Spyware scanners

in addition to your favorite utilities such as antivirus, antispyware, registry cleaners, etc, you need belarc advisor or aida32 (or whatever they call themselves these days) or maybe even sandra sis.
