Lost Start Menu,tasktray,clock,etc...

Hi,I'm running ME and whenever I open my browser to surf (Explorer5 or 6), I lose my bottom of the screen windows, I forget what they are called..so that I can go back and forth between web sites. Any ideas? Thanks,Trish:wave:

Hi,

Is it only with IE?

Do you get IE File Menu, Etc.?

Try pressing F11 to reduce IE.

Also, what shortcut are you using to start IE?

Mornin'! Yes, I get my Explorer "file", "edit","view",etc, but my active windows do not show up at the bottom. It seems to be only when I have Explorer open,which I open by using a shortcut on my desktop,but this happens if I open IE using anything. I've heard of this but I forget how to fix it. Oh,I also lose my clock,Norton icon,sound icon,etc.....don't make sense!~~~Thanks,Trish:disgust:

You could try a Repair of IE.

Are you saying you have no taskbar or no icons on the taskbar?

Hi--yes,I had lost everything in the task bar area! Strange! So, I just used my Compaq recovery discs,and used those to redo my system,and now everything is fine. I still don't know what caused that to happen,unless it was just spyware stuff that did it,ya know? Thanks all for helping out! As always,I am deeply appreciative to all of you!
