How Can I Get This To Play Please Help

:dizzy: Hi i have a dvd and i put it in my comp and saved it in there so i can watch it whenever . 1 problem it keeps saving it as "svcd mpg(2).avi" My divx player and my media player will not play it , it says its corrupt or does not reconize the file name. My question is , is there a player i can dl , or some sort of codec i should try to be able to play this. I ran out of options any help is greatly appreciated thank you

Did you just copy the DVD files or did you make an image of the DVD?

just coppied it , thats why i do not understand why it saves itself as that file type. but i would like to watch it but can not figure out how

The easiest way is to make an image of the DVD rather than copying the raw files.

You will need to use a program like Alcohol 120%

Then you will install that, and it will make a logical CD/DVD drive on your computer and you can make the image with the software.
