Starting last week every time I try to open IE, I receive the message "Explorer has caused an error in <unknown>. Explorer will now close." Sometimes <unknown> is replaced by KERNEL32.DLL. I've tried to search for possible solutions, but nothing is able to get rid of it. I've used both SpyBot and Ad-aware without any success. Unfortunately, not being the only one to use this computer I cannot begin to determine what may have cause it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Amy, welcome to the community!
Are you running the latest I.E.?
This link (http://www.generation.net/~hleboeuf/errkrn32.htm) might help shed some light on this particular error.

Yes, I'm running IE6. I redownloaded it, even though I knew Explorer was not the same thing as IE. Figured what the heck.

I going to looks through the Kernel links, but usually the Explorer error states that it has caused an error in <unknown>. The Kernel is secondary and does not always show up.

Hi again Amy, you might want to try running Hijack This (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/html/downloads/download.php/id/40) and post your log in the Safety Forum. (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=25)

This issue has been fixed thanks to AnnMarie. Here is the link to the thread going over the issue for those experiencing the same thing: http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=265275&posted=1
Apparently it was due to Internet Keyword, which I had seen on my computer for some time, but knew not what it did.
Thanks to everyone here for theie assistance.
