cannot install Yahoo messenger

hi,

I downloaded the yahoo messenger program, but when i tried installing it, it gave me the error "could not communicate to network server error 26" i kept retrying because i am on the internet and no luck. when i hit abort it gave me the message "The file C:\\WINDOWS\TEMP\GLF\4102.TMP could not be open." so i searched for this file on my computer and it says "the folder C:\\WINDOWS\TEMP\GLF could not be found. Is there any way I can get this file on my computer so that i can install yahoo messenger.

My computer is running Windows 98 and I use most recent Netscape browser because IE6 is giving me a DNS error.
