Hi:

Hope somebody could give me some help on the best way to do the following and any freeware software you may recommend w/links to the sites(Second choice would be shareware please). Thank you in advance.

I do a lot of music editing both audio/video. I want to be able to take certain parts of a DVD and have them converted to an MPEG file, so I can use the music editing programs I have. What programs would let me play a DVD on the computer and let me tell it which chapter(s) I want to convert to the MPEG? Even if it has to end up as a VCD, I then can always change the file extension to .mpeg. It will work on a VCD but not on a DVD. Hoping there are fast and easy methods.

Finally please the programs you suggest, will they let me extract the parts of the DVD if it is either a copy or the original. Sometimes I am working off a copy.

The system I have has plenty of power/speed and room P4/3.06/1024 Memory/250 GB (Only using 8 percent) and cable modem.

Thank you for your time and be well.
