I am trying to help a friend computer challanged, I am just one step ahead.
The information below may not be enough to help. What information do I need to gather so that somebody can help with a strategy to resolve this problem?

Windows ME
Needed a bios upgrade to install a new HD.
here is the error message:
device name: IRQ Holder of PCI Ste.... (i don't know how to manually

(without a mouse) move the lines to get beyond the ..........

PnP device ID: PCI\IRQ Holder\62

Error Code #: 22

I'm hoping that this will clear up the floating arrow in the middle of my screen and allow the mouse to operate. The "floating" arrow is there whether or not the mouse is physically installed. If it floats to a: Ok or other like boxes. The computer freezes when i want to manually hit cancel or another option.

HERE Are The IRQ's

Hi Tom,
Did you remember to restore setup defaults after you flashed the BIOS?
