Mouse problems in games on Windows 2003 Server

Hello,

I have some problems in games in Windows 2003 server Enterprise. The X Axis is quicker than the Y axis, making up and down movement very inflexible, I tried many mouse tweaks, but that only applies to the Desktop. In games even with pointer precision on or off, it will still do that. Does anyone has this problem or know any fixes?

Drivers for the mouse?

[quote=Tweaker]Hello Rskeats have you tried reinstalling the drivers?

No, it happens on any computer I have running Windows 2003 server Enterprise build 3097, strangely it doesn't do it in close builds like Windows XP and Longhorn build 4008. I have different mouse types, this one I have is A Microsoft USB laser eye one, 2 usb lasers mice and the rest are PS2. It doesn't matter what mouse driver, mouse, port or refresh rate I use. I tried several old tweaking program for calibrating the mouse. The problem is not the movement in Windows desktop, it only happens in games by defualt. I calibrated it different which took effect, but not in the games. In Unreal Tournament there is a Direct Input option which makes it a bit better, but the X axis becomes even more sensitive and Direct Input is buggy as it lags and Windowing, and fullscreen in UnrealTournament leaves a mouse pointer visible at the center of the screen.

Point - Win2000 Server is not a gaming O/S

That said, I bet your problems are Graphics driver related, not mouse driver.

See if you have options in the games (or commndline options) to enable or disable hardware accelerated cursors.

I am fully aware of that.

Windows 2000 server, I have no problems with games. Its just with Windows 2003 Enterprise, I have 2 builds, one is 3790 and the other build I can't remember, but the 2 builds has the mouse problem.

Maybe they done something to the mouse input in the driver and didn't allow the extensions or calliberation.

Anyway I'll try that, as a last resort.

You could try downloading and installing the new direct x, and new microsoft mouse drivers, the new software has many fixes.

Hello

Yes I got Directx 9.0 c and the new Microsoft Driver update 5, but still doesn't have the options for calliberating. When I enable Direct Input in Unreal Tournament it corrects that problem but the sensitivity needs adjusting to high levels, (The X axis has the same sensitivity as the Y axis), but it is buggy, like lagging when moving around and after minimizing the game and entering back to fullscreen the mouse pointer shows at the middle(I always had these two problem with Direct input), In other games, Half Life quake 3 and Grand Theft Auto 3, it still does it.

Thanks for the help, I'll find a solution one day.

Do you have the same problems in games under Windows 2003 Enterprise?

Mouse fix

I found a fix, known as a curve:

http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device...inter-bal.mspx

http://www.tweakxp.com/article139850.aspx

It is a real shame no one, not only here, did not seem to know how to disable the mouse curve in games.
