Hey Everyone,
I have a company Intranet and I am wanting to create pdf forms for them to fill out and save. I have created the forms and text boxes and everything works but since I don't want to buy everyone a copy of Acrobat they aren't able to save. Is there any way around this? I tried to do an action button that didn't seem to work either. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks,
Bill

forms created with Acrobat 6 should work with adobe acrobat reader which is free.

It works but all they can do is Read and Write in the form. I can't get them to be saved and need to know if there is a way around this so I don't have to go and buy a lot of copies of Acrobat.

There are some other possibilities, however, a little more information might be helpful.
Are you wanting your users to be able to save many different copies of the form, each with different data, or will they be saving only one or two different copies? What will the saved copies be used for? Will they be retrieved and printed frequently, or are they just for archive storage? Will saved copies ever need to be changed or edited?

Well they will be saving different data frequently using this one form and many people will be using it. It will be printed and emailed. After the job is completed the form will be archived and could come back to refrence but not changed much.

You may end up using something else to create the form, and using an inexpensive (or free) .pdf creator program to make the .pdf files. Most .pdf creators act like a printer driver. You just fill in the blanks, and then print the completed form to the printer driver that creates the .pdf files. You may even be able to do this by printing to a .pdf printer driver from Acrobat Reader, although I have not tried this. A Google search for 'free pdf' or something similar should turn up a list of free .pdf creators. One is listed below:
