Why can't my friend print from his laptop to his home network pc's under WinMe when both desktops show the available network printers and file and print sharing is installed? He can access all files and each desktop will print to the others printer. HP 722c & HP 710c, latest drivers installed. He has installed the software to the printers over the network using the add printer in Win Me on the laptop.

Can anyone help out?

He's probably never going to be able to print to either of those two particular printers over the network.

For whatever reason, HP decided to make those two models unable to print through a network.

Look about half way down the chart - Networking Options = Not Supported

In looking for a link to HP's site for their statement that network printing isn't supported I also found that the 722 doesn't support NT4 or DOS printing.
