I have 2 700mhz Dell Pc's and Have them networked. I have one PC that's the server and one PC that's the Client. I use Sygate 4.0 and my internet sharing software, For my high speed internet access I have a cable modem (Time Warner Roadrunner). Both computer are able to see each other on the network we are able to play games via the network. The problem is Both computer are un able to play Games via the On-line. The only computer that can do this is the server the one hocked to the cable modem. If any know a fix please let me know. If anyone has any suggestions

Hi there,
I have a very similar situation. I have tried to figure this out and have been unable to. So you're not alone. The only thing I can think of is that it has to do with cable access to the internet and the way gaming programs are most all written for analog modems. Maybe one of these days I'll find the answer along with you. http://www.cybertechhelp.com/ubb/smile.gif

Ok, heres your problem, you said the cable modem is hooked up to your server and the other PC connects to the internet through that. Your trying to play two online games through one computer and that wont work. Heres the solution: Get a Linksys DSL/Cable router for about $100. What you do is, hook the cable modem into the router and then hook the two computers up to the router via their NICs into the router's built in 4port hub(which is nice if you wanted to add more PCs to your network). And now you have an always on cable Internet connection that either PC can access, (the server doesnt have to be on for the client to use it) and you should have no troulbe with playing online games simultaneously. Also it would free up some resources on the server since the client isnt connected through you. http://www.cybertechhelp.com/ubb/smile.gif
