I was wondering if anyone can help, as this almost seems impossible to do.

I want to connect 2 different networks together as 1 network using wireless.

1st Network
I have a Netgear Router with ADSL Modem built in for internet conectivity.
2x PC's
1x wireless laptop (can be plugged in if this conflicts)

2nd Network
Origo wireless router with 4 ports
1x PC
1x X-Box

Shown in mspaint below

http://www.absolutetec.com/network.jpg

The red lines shows wireless conectivity. - blue is the rj45 TP cables.

However the 1st network has internet but cant see the second network.

I have 1st network set to SSID : SlyNET and channel 11
2nd network SSID : SlyNet and channel 6

setup DHCP on the 1st network to see if it worked, nope so then tried with all manual ip's to see if it works. nope.

after many hours of trying i went out and brought a wireless access point....
plugged that into the 2nd router and disabed wireless on the 2nd router. still no joy.

what im basically asking is it possible to connect 2 routers VIA wireless on a network, as the 2nd router is turned just into a switch box.

I think the problem here is more to do with SSID and Chanell than basic networking. DO you have a Wireless Scanner software to see if both Wireless are responding. Try this

Set both SSID to the same, basiclly making a bridge. set the IP range the same so Router 1 = DHCP Router 2 = Manual but in the same range, telling Router 1 to skip that address exclude.... once we have that then both wireless should be bridged. Check the Web Site for information on Bridging two routers.

Thats should do it.

PS one Router should be let say a ADSL Wireless Router the other need to be a Wireless Access Point only so you would have

DLINK G604T - ADSL Router
DLINK AWP2000 - Wireless Router

This would work ok. also to hard wire them you would need a cross over cable to link router to router
