Okay - I imported all my cds into itunes at full size, and i have 7879 songs and a little bit more than 125 gigs of data. in order to put it on my ipod i need to make it less thatn 40 gigs. so after reading the help files i assumed that i could change the stored music folder toa different hard drive, delete the library, change the mode of import to AAC in Preferences, and then drag the files from the original hard drive into the library. i assumed that it would reimport, reduce the file size, create a new librbary and move the files to the new stored music folder.

all of the above worked EXCEPT it did not reduce the file size.

andy ideas or suggestions?

You are not going to be able to reduce 125gb to 40gb for an iPod. You'll need to choose which songs you want on the iPod and let those songs total only 40gb actually I'd keep it at 35gb.

there is a rumor going around about a 60gb ipod that can display pictures, connect to a tv, and has a color screen. I saw it on www.appleinsider.com (http://www.appleinsider.com).

Hello All,

The rumor about the new 60gig iPod was also on cnn.com yesterday. I don't have the complete URL handy but I think you could search and find the article there also. Sug retail price is $499. Rumor is the new iPod will let you store and view up to 25,000 photos, or 25,000 songs (or a combination of the two). I don't know about the rest of the world, but I don't have that many CDS! :sarcastic
