i have a intel ethernet pro 100+ for my pc and cant get it working. i have tried all 4 of my pci slots and it seems no matter which one i use, it always seems to go on the same irq setting as something else. dont know if this is why it is not working for me but that was my first impression. when i start up it always says that it is not working properly and that it might need to be reinstalled. i have reinstalled it over 20 times in different slots and cant get it working. any help?

Hi there,
Been there, done that. http://www.cybertechhelp.com/ubb/eek.gif
Some PCI cards will only assign one IRQ number no matter what you do. There is most likely another card that it doesn't get along with. Even if there are no conflicts in Device Manager, they will not get along and will most likely never work. May I suggest Linksys NIC's. They are good quality, low price and I've never had a problem with them. I have no financial relations with them, I just use their product because it's good.
3Com and Intel NIC's, in my opinion, are a pain.

well i dont have any problems with trying things out. as far as my os, im running win98. i know exactly what you are talking about with the check box and trying everything without plug and play bios. i might go ahead and try that out. thanks for the info. if i dont come back then you will know i got it working.
