I have four computers on the network. On this particular computer, I have trouble when the TCP/IP for the lan adapter is installed. When I take it off, the problem goes away. The settings are the same on all computers but the problem is only on this one. The problem is that sometimes when I want to pull files up, etc., it either locks up or takes forever to pull anything up. Let me know what I could do. Thanks!

Hi there,

OK, I'm just going to tell ya what I'd do.

I'd pull all cards off the motherboard except the video card. Start windows in Safe Mode and make sure all drivers and programs for the cards that I pulled are removed or deleted.

Start windows in Normal Mode and check to see that all drivers were removed, and that all else is working correctly.

Then I'd add back each card one at a time, making sure it was setup correctly before going to the next.

Why? I think there is some kind of a conflict going on and this is one good way to try and find and fix it. I know it's a real pain to do it this way, but it's a way that will most always fix such a problem. However, this is NOT the only way I'm sure, for the problem could even be hardware.

Gotta start somewhere though. Trial and error is necessary sometimes. This may be one of those times.
