Not able to get CD Rom in Dos from bootdisk
I have an old Toshuba Laptop. The os has been wiped off by FDisk. I have a new version of 95 but when I insert the bootdisk(downloaded from bootdisk.com) I am not sure that: A: how to launch from the cdrom drive and B: if the bootdisk has the cdrom drives, even though it says it does. I've tried to get to the D: drive in the dos side but it says that the drive doesn't exsist. I just need to know how to get to the cdrom drive from the boot disk.

Howdy:
Are you using a Win95 bootdisk or a Win98 bootdisk?? Win98, 98SE and ME have cd-rom drivers included.. Win95 bootdisks don't.. Quick way to tell.. when you boot using the bootfloppy, you should get an option to "Start with cd-rom enabled" or something similiar.. Murray |

What happens is that I put in the 95 boot disk and I get a A:>, should I use the 98 bootdisk?

Yes, use the Win98 bootdisk. Depending on where you download from, your CD drive will then be E or perhaps R. Watch for the assignment letter as the boot progresses. D will be a temporary RAMDrive. Once you get to the A: type the appropriate drive letter, and off you go!
