HELP! w/ The Sims 2

Hi everyone. I just got The Sims 2 today & it installed fine. But when I load the game up I can't play it because it says...

"The Sims 2 failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in your system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter & have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate."

I have a Windows ME & I really need help! Thanks :)

Hi,

Have you done a update on Windows ME, from the Microsoft Windows update site? you might not have DirectX 9.0c installed. If you do an update scan and see if you have it intalled.

^ Thanks so much with the help but I'm not sure how to do a scan & I downloaded DirectX 9.0 & it still doesn't seem to work. I'm so mad & i'm not very computer literate so if anyone could supply more help I swear I'll do anything. :blush:

Go start, "Windows Update" then a webpage should open and then follow what it says.

Something I thought of, does your computer meet the minimum system requirments of the game?

Hi, I am getting the same error message that you had about DirectX for the Sims 2. Were you able to get your game working?
