I'm using a Microsoft wireless router. Two of my neighbors have unprotected networks. When I log into my network, it automatically keeps switching me to one of their networks. Sometimes it takes an hour, sometimes it takes a minute. Not that I necessarily mind using their network once in a while =). However, when I try to connect to my work's VPN, it needs a secure connection. When my machine transfers me over to one of their unsecure connections, I get booted off of the VPN. It's starting to get quite annoying. Any insight or suggestions that any has would be appreciated.

You can set your router as the primary within Windows.

I'm using windows xp... I haven't loaded the new service pack. I've gone into "Available Wireless Networks"->"Advanced" and then moved my network to the top of the prefered list. It hasn't solved the problem. If there's another way to switch my network to primary, please let me know. As far as switching the channels... it's not my router that is picking up the other signals, it's the built in wireless card in my laptop. If there's a way to change the channel there so that it only picks up my signal, please let me know.
Thanks for the help

I am not familiar with your router, but you will have to change channels on your router and on all of your wireless devices. Go to your router setup.
