unusual activity

about a week ago my monitor started acting strange. Every once in a while the whole screen will expand and contract and then go back to normal. I haven't changed anything lately and I haven't noticed it doing it when i do a particular thing. Anyone have any ideas?

check all cables and cards and make sure everything is dustfree and plugged in properly. Also do you have your monitor plugged into a surge protector, if not, it really needs to be.
