Norton is The Problem

Hi Norton is blocking your IP thought put. you may need to right click and goto to the setting for zone and set up a zone using your IP Range.

Better still un-install Norton it crap and have a look at Panda AV with Firewall built in.

What you will see is that Norton is running in Administrator Mode so you need to login in and change the lan setting if your get stuck press F1

hmmm, I wonder if this could be the problem I am having.... bought a new hp pavillion zt3000 ( came with norton) connects fine at home to both the wireless and the non wireless (is that the lan line?) but when I hook it to the non wireless line AWAY from home it says "failed - no connectivity"

I wonder if norton could be limiting the ip range???

Oneslip, the reason you are unable to connect to a network away from home is most likely that the network does not recognize your system. You would have to have your machine a member of that same workgroup and have your network settings aligned with the network you are trying to access. A little more info would help to know for sure. The available IP address range is not controlled by Norton.
