I am the part time IT guy here at my office(small company) I keep us up and running with pretty good success. I have an issue that has got me stumped so I came here to get some advice.

My boss is running a Winbook XL with Win 98.

This morning when he booted it up the screen did not look right as a matter of fact there was only half of the screen that looked correct. The bottom of the screen looked like a TV that was not hooked up to an antenna, or cable (snow).

When the computer gets completely booted up the screen moves with the mouse, instead of the mouse pointer moving with the mouse. The pointer stays in the top center of the screen. All of the functions seem to be working. I am in the middle of doing a defrag and scan disk (268 days since done). This one has me stumped.

Any suggestions?

TIA

Have you tried booting into safemode? This eliminates most drivers.
Have you/can you look in device manager and see if any conflicts there?
Even booting in safemode and back again clears some things.
Luck.
