Hi,
I have an IBM Aptiva. My problem started when I tried to reinstall my Lexmark printer. When the drivers tried to load the disk stopped responding. After trying about five times to do the install I gave up. A few minutes later I tried to use my CD ROM drive and got no response. It tells me that it's been locked by a disk utility, as has my floppy drive. When I go to the properties for my disk drives it says the space is all used up and that there are 0 bytes used and 0 bytes free. I tries three anti-virus tools with no luck. I also tried Spy-bot with no luck there either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome :)

Is it doing this after rebooting?

Yes it is. I also tried ConfigSafe, went back a week, no luck.

What is the exact error message?

Have you tried removing the devices from device manager?

Hi,
I just removed them from device manager. When I rebooted, Windows located the software for the hardware and installed it. Didn't fix the problem.
The error message is: D:\ is not accessible The device is not ready.
When I run my antivirus it says: This disk has been locked by a disk utility.
" If it weren't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any."

Hi,
I did a reboot to Dos and ran Scandisk. It said no errors were found. Drives A: & D: still locked.
