Desperately Seeking Help

I have a few of issues with this computer:

1. It freezes up when I am surfing the net but I don't get any errors with it.
2. When I hit Ctrl>Alt>Delete and then choose end task nothing happens and the computer freezes. I have to manually reset it.:disgust:
3. Sometimes I get an illegal operation message and I don't even know why and when I choose to close my desktop goes into recovery mode.:dizzy:

I need help because I am totally clueless!

Check box "Check for Altered files, follow the screen prompts, have your Windows 98 CD ready.
