printer problems

i moved my computer and now the printer dont work it is an epson stylus 640,i just get the error message saying make sure the printer is turn on and online
how do i check if it is online i have looked in all the properties boxes and cant see anything saying about thi splease help

Older printer must have parallel cable. Yes?
Make sure no pins were bent when making cable connections and make sure cable clips are secure.
If all this is Ok, start/settings/printers....do you see you printer?If you open it, does it show properties?
Does your printer self check?
