Dropped connection on wireless

I have a Linksys Befw11s4 wireless router, and a Dell True Mobile WLAN mini-pci card installed in my laptop. I get great connections and never drop them, that is until I enable any kind of security on the router. When I turn on either WEP or WPA I connect up fine at first, but then the connection drops within 2 or 3 minutes. I can reconnect after my laptop finds the router again, but the I always lose the connection again after about the same time period. This is the second router I have had, as my other router(a dell crap one) burnt up on me. Both routers have given me the same problem. So here I am surfing fine, at the same time broadcasting everything on my network to my neighborhood. Has anyone had any similar problems? Any suggestions? My next logical step is to go and buy a PCMCIA wireless card for the laptop, and disable the built in one.

try this..

Click start >Run >services.msc {enter} locate the “Wireless Zero Configuration” Service, right click it select “Stop”. Right click it again select properties and change its startup type to disabled.
