I am wondering can anyone help me with this problem. I tried to upgrade my AOL 8.0 to 9.0 and when I rebooted the following mess. occured. "Cannot find a device file that may be needed to run windows or a windows application. The windows registry or STSTEM.INI file refers to this device file, but the device file no longer exists.
If you deleted this file on purpsoe, try uninstalling the associated application using unistall or setup program. If you still want to use the application associated with this device file, try reinstalling that application to replace the missing file. C:/PROGRA`1/MCAFEE/MCAFEE`2/SAFE&S`1/FBWIN95.VXD.
I have tried to uninstall Mcafee but can't fully uninstall even after I followed their directions. I keep getting a message that says it was not successful. I am also wondering is this affecting my ability to do other things. For example, I can't get on certain websites, I get an "unable to locate message" with "res://C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOCLC.DLL/navcancl" as part of the message. I can't use my Windows Media.
So any suggestions on how to remove the find in bold above?:fyi:
