My friend needs to upgrade her computers ram so she can use her all-in-one printer, it needs 64 ram and she has only 32. She has four bars of ram in the slots so I know that they are 8 mb each. We want to replace them with 4 16 mb bars of ram. How do I know what kind of ram to use to do this upgrade? Thank you

if it is a brand name computer go to crucial.com and use their memory search. It should tell you exactly what is needed. Even if you upgrade, you still could have problems.

1. The printer may not work with the computer, if it only has 32 megs of ram, it may be too old.

2. If you only have 64 megs, the printer still may not have enough since the operating system and other programs running will use some ram. Could cause alot of freezes or crashes

3. Since it is using older ram - it will be harder to find, the cost will be higher to the point, where it may be cheaper in the long run to purchase a new computer from Walmart or other discount chains.

But then you may not have any problems. The above are things to consider. Please provide computer info(operating system, harddrive size, space available, cpu) and the exact printer and you will get better help.
