First of all do I have to subscribe in order to use my custom avatar?

I am not sure if anyone ever figured this out and already posted it but I got real excited when I did and just wanted to throw this one on here because I decided I was getting fed up with losing the little icons next to my favorites everytime I rebooted.

So I googled "how do I keep my favorites icons"

And this site had a thread from march that offered a program and all kinds of complicated fixes, well I was sitting there thinking simple which is what I am best at :rotflmao: And i thought how do I keep something from being deleted???

OK HERES THE FIX!!!

Just right click on the favorite after you add it and go to properties click the general tab and.. YOUR GONNA LYAO here dude seriously...

check "read only"

I am not kidding. After finding so many forums with so many suggested fixes and programs, after 2 years of never having my favorites icons this was what fixed it :disgust:

This should be a lesson to alot of peeps that sometimes the simplest approach is the best one.

To answer your first question, yes, you have to subscribe to use a custom avatar. As far as the rest of it - you lost me right after "I am not sure.."

This is what I am talking about>>

In that thread someone needed help. Everyone gave halfass answers and I actually gave the sure answer.

Rather than post on a year 6 month old thread I figured I'd try and help out with a real tech answer for once dick :disgust:

I digress.

That was an old thread, from March, 2002 - before my time.

I must have been reading the thread wrong, cos I see that a program was suggested by Zipulrich, that does the Favicon searching......But I guess everyone has their 15 minutes of fame. :)

Not stickied, your 15 minutes are up. :pThx! I like your forums but i would like to see more people becoming members and helping.

I put this in my favorites. I then proceeded to right click it and check read only:eek:

Whats is so funny is how I always assume that the people I am "usually" having flame wars with are between 15-20 years old and then I go look at the gallery and BOY WAS I WRONG!

Thats so funny. All my perceptions have been blown out of the water!

AWESOME FORUM KEEP IT UP!!
