Ok, after my failure at connecting via the hub, I decided to give the internet connection sharing thing a try. Everything was going great during setup, pings were going well, etc.

BUT ... when I went to finish up and install the internet connection from the host computer's windows setup box (in add/remove programs) it told me ok, restart the computer... well, when I restarted the computer I got all kinds of windows protection errors.

One was "an exception OE has occurred at 0028:FF105421 in VxD uhcd(01)+ 000036C1. This was called from 0028:C16A6D14 in VxD RMM(01)+ 00000254. It may be possible to continue in windows...."

When I tried to continue it said "windows protection error. you must restart your computer".

I am so disappointed in trying to get my notebook hooked up to use Roadrunner. If any help is out there, it would be SO appreciated. Thanks.

Ok, I am a duh. I figured out one problem. I was using the wrong cable. I used a Cat 5 and I should use a cross over.

So, now I have the crossover and tried reinstalling internet connection sharing.

Well, the host computer still won't start windows after installing the internet connection wzard thing. I get errors when "initializing IFSMGR" and "Error: OE: 0028 : FF105421" and a few others.
