I use the same messageboard as this and I would like to know how to ban people. Not just the name but something that would stop them form coming onto the website in future. I was thinking about banning their IP range but that would be unfair to other nice people on the same range that use the messagboards.
Suggestions?

banning specific individuals is extremely hard to do. There are too many ways to bypass it from anonymous surfin to just resetting the ip. I am not that familiar with this particular board so I am not sure what is available but one thing you can do is to moderate new members review all of their posts or give them restrictive membership.

Go to your vBulletin Control Panel. You can ban away from there.
