FireFox not loading any webpage

I installed Firefox but when i open it, it will not display any webpage. it stays on a blank white page and says done at the bottom. i have typed in many links and it goes nowhere. i have tried reinstalling, restarting my computer, setting it as default but still no page will display. help?

Give some details about your internet setup.
Do you use a Proxy Server?

i have cox cable internent and i use macafee. thats all i know of.

click on files and near the bottom, make sure work offllne is not selcted

i mainly use netscape and it works fine. i also have opera and ie and they all work fine except firefox. also it is not set to work offline.

what version of firefox are you using and what happens when you click on reload after getting a blank page?

1.0 and nothing happens just a blank white screen.

Weird! Try Tools > Options > General > Connection settings.... as Degsy mentioned earlier. Depending on your set up, normal setting is direct to internet.

yeah thats what it is set on, but still nothing.

What about your settings in Tools>Options>Privacy(Allow sites to set cookies etc) then look at Web Features?

Also go to tools - options - general - connection settings, what do you have seletected?

Have you allowed it access through your firewall?
