New to forum,:wave:

I want to network a laptop to a older desktop so I can access the hard drives in the desktop.

Both have Ethernet,firewire and usb ports.

How can I do this. I appreciate any help you may have

U shoud use a cross over cable from eithernet to eithernet and assign a tcip numbet each.

pc1 = 192.168.1.1
laptop = 192.168.1.2

Workgroup - workgroup

Then on the Pc1 right click on drive c: and share it. if it xp / 2000 you may need to either make a user name to match the laptop or turn the guest account on. you should be ok with this.. have a try it fun.
