Last week, the buttons at the top of my IE browser mysteriously changed. The address bar disappeared and I no longer had the large visual icons. I shut the PC down and brought it back up. My monitor started flashing a white screen. The monitor would not turn off! I shut the PC down, unplugged everything, plugged it back in, and turned it on. The flashing monitor was fixed. My first thought was virus. I ran my Norton virus check and no viruses were found. I have a firewall, use Comcast for Internet access, I use Comcast anti-spyware tools, my WIN XP updates are up to date. To fix the browser problem, I did a system restore to a week prior. My browser reverted back to the way it used to be, which is good. But, now I can't access certain sites and on some sites, banners will not display. When I attempt to access certain sites, the bottom of the browser window shows Done, but nothing displays. On other sites, there are supposed to be banners displaying, but I can't see them. I used my husband's PC and his works just fine, so I know it is something wrong with my PC. I'm completely baffled and don't know what else to try at this point! I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

So weird....I restored back to today (eariler I had restored back to last week). Now, everything appears to be fine. I can access the sites and I see the banners? Maybe a video card problem?

Welcome :)

And thanks for the update :)
Aswell as Norton, make sure you have a good Firewall and Spyware tools.
