I'm not sure if this is where this topic belongs, sorry if it's not. I've heard that people can get someones IP and somehow hack or something and be able to watch whatever that persons doing on their computer. I know schools and companies do this with networked computers to watch over what the employees and students are doing, but I was just wondering if this is possible that someone can just take any persons IP and be able to do this? It's kind of scarey if they can.

just about anythings possible with computers. To see how secured your computer is, run pcflanks online scans. Also make sure you have a firewall, have an antivirus software, and run antispyware software. Finally be careful when you are on the internet and when you open email.

It's called keylogging. I use it on a PC at work, it does screenshots and activity logging, as well. A real snoopy piece of software! This is on a public computer, where people shouldn't be surfing for pr0n anyway. It's a CYA thing for my company.

You should be most concerned about Trojans on your PC. They're the ones responsible for privacy loss. Follow Dan's advice, and use a Trojan sniffer such as Swatit or TauScan.

It's important to point out that just having an anti-virus software on your PC is not the whole picture. I asked a coworker recently when he was complaining of slow sluggish performance weather or not he had currentanti-virus software installed on his machine or not. He replied that he had McCrappie, sorry McAffee, AV ever since he bought his HP. I agreed to look at his machine and add some RAM to his machine. Well anyway, he had AV software, alright. But his subscription had expired 55 months ago! Definition files were ancient. Also, he had never ever visited Windows Update. I had to cart his box home so I could get him onto my broadband connection. I had about 144Mb of updates to install.
