FastNet99 4.0

Hello...Has anyone been able to get the functions of WhoIs, Finger & Time in FastNet99?? I've tried everything to get them to work. I've got the vbrun60.exe which is required to run program & made sure all the .ocx's are registered in registry. I wrote to the author & he doesn't know why these functions don't work for me. He says that he hasn't had any other complaints.

Just wondered if it's me or something flawed within the program. I think that there is something wrong with the GCQuery.ocx file but not sure. Any ideas to what's wrong or any solutions?? Thanks for any help!!!

I haven't used this program inparticular, but what error messages do you get if any ????

...just as a FYI you can use all those functions which you require tracert, ping, whois, finger by going to http://www.samspade.org where you use these searches on their site for free. Ya might wanna take a look http://www.cybertechhelp.com/ubb/smile.gif

Anyway, let us know what error messages if any you get and I'm sure we'll be able to help you....

Hello...Thanks for the reply. When i try either of those 3 functions i don't get an error message instead the program just sits there & doesn't perform the function. Like if i am trying to do a WhoIs, it says at the bottom that it is connecting to WhoIs server but doesn't do or go anywhere. That's why i think that that GCQuery.ocx has a problem with it but then again i'm only guessing.

I've shutdown my firewall (NIS 2001)& NAV 2001 but that makes no difference. I've installed/uninstalled FastNet99 several times to no avail. Also made sure that the .ocx program files where registered with registry. I just can't think of anything else to do. I can use the other features just fine like the ping & trace & of course the creating/modifying the host file.

Don't sure if it really is something with just on my end even though the program author says that he hasn't received any other complaints with this problem.

Oh well, i just thought that this would be handy to do within the program. Anyway thanks for the help & any clues. http://www.cybertechhelp.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hi i tried to install Fastnet99 in my computer but i couldn´t, so i gave up, then i tried to install AVG antivirus but everytime i´ve tried to install it instead of appearing the setup of avg appears the install menu of fasnet99 v 4.3 upgrade, i send this mail with captures of this problem, please could anybody tell me how to fix this? i´ll really appreciate it
